I’ve taken a short (long) hiatus. It felt good not to have an underlying responsibility to a website, but I feel liek I ought to – it’s fun.
Did you know that the Berserks were a group of Vikings who would go into battle naked? It explains the word origin. I wonder who went trawling through a history book looking for people to be made into terms.
Being made into terms – is that a word? Termify? Termitize? Etymonize? Get to work on that, Linguists.

Guns don’t kill people. Bullets do. I still cannot figure out how to make a new line on this entry system. A lot of music is what I call ‘white’. This can be interpreted as white noise mostly, or silence mostly. A lot of indie music especially is mostly empty noise. I think that’s better than blaring guitars and synths.

Oh, right, I wanted to. An suspicious lack of places to be cynical on has provided me with the urge – flanked by readers – to start blogging again.
A lot’s changed since last year. I have a new computer, an Intel iMac with iSight (don’t worry, no pictures). I have a whole lot more work, so expect more blogging due to increased procrastination. I have also learned to play Ukelele.

Also, I have written a number of new songs.

I apologize for the slow load time. Many more on the way.
Many more songs, I mean. Although many more posts as well.
Have you ever just walked into something? I don’t mean a trap, or a pit, or a wooden pole, (though I have done that as well), but just anything. Something you’ve lived with for years, and you misestimated its distance from your head. Ever happened?

Yes, I’ve been away for nearly three weeks, but at the time of departure I had imagined I would come back with a overflow of suitable ideas for sharing. So far only a few have sprung to mind.
- I am currently the Letterer and Maintainer over at knightwatch.wordpress.com,
- I read Angels and Demons recently,
- Still waiting for the movie,
- I saw two (2) iPhones,
- They’re freaking awesome!
- I have gained a surprising amount of knowledge about etymology,
- and I failed magnificently to quote be normal unquote.
- I also learned that using air quotes communicates not only emphasis but also a disturbing image of bunnies.
So far nothing’s changed. It will soon.Soon after I got back home, I checked the Apple Website for trailers, as I often do, and a few names caught my eye. The Golden Compass, Get Smart, and Sicko. As an avid fan of His Dark Materials, (I can spell dæmons,) I will be intrigued to see how they handle the whole “God is a fake” concept. Get Smart looks plain funny, and Sicko is of course, a classic.More to follow.

I am home sick. I can barely breathe, and although I know I should be getting some sleep, I spent most of today transfering my Blogger Blog to this new WordPress one. Hope you enjoy the new layout.
When I get some more time, I’ll go back through all my old entries and give them catagories. As you may have noticed, I have a bunch of pages up top. They are Home, About, and Links. As time goes by, I may add more.
WordPress is surprisingly easy to use. I always thought it was hard, but I guess not.
I wish I could change the URL from betheturtle.wordpress.com to whatwouldturtledo.wordpress.com, but oh well. You can’t have everything.

There is a secret address which I can mail to which will automatically publish to my blog. It’s a secret because, were others to find out, they could falsely post. This is the first time I have done such a thing, but hopefully this will make it easier to blog during my trips away from a computer.
I spent most of today designing a new site layout in Illustrator, only to be hopelessly set astray because of the fact that I couldn’t do anything with it. If one of you CSS Geniuses could help, that’d be great.
iWeb has turned out to be a flop, too. You can publish… but only to .Mac, which is expensive. You can save to HTML, but the images don’t follow. HTML is great, but for my idea, it just doesn’t do the trick.
I spent the other half of the day reading the Constitution. It’s a brilliant piece of work, but I’d love to see it translated like XKCD did for Washington’s Farewell speech.

Firstly, I want to send out a reminder to everyone: You’re welcome to comment on any post. I work on this every day, the least you could do is write two or three sentences of what you think.Secondly, It’s time for: What Would I Do?! This is similar, except that you give the scenario. As an example:Scenario: You’ve been eating nothing but beans and porridge for five days because you’re trapped inside your fridge. Why is that all you have there? And I would respond: Well, two nights ago, my friend threw a party, and his sister brought home a free certificate to a supermarket, that had to be used by the next day. My friend went to the supermarket, but all they had was porridge. My friend figured that maybe they could sell it and get cash, but nobody likes porridge nowadays. So my friend threw a party, hoping the guests would eat the porridge, but nobody came except for me. So I was forced to take home nearly half of all the porridge, and I was storing it in my fridge. Also, I really like beans, but because I buy so many, I couldn’t afford to put anything else in my fridge.(This isn’t real.)So email me or post a comment with a scenario, and I’ll show off my overactive imagination. Thanks!

Egad! I’ve struck gold!Recently I entered a caption contest on Fake Steve Jobs, and ever since he posted my entry for a sherrif-version of Jimmy Wales and Tim O’Reilly, (Advocates for a Code of Blogging), my numbers have jumped. He included a link to What Would Turtle Do, and my stats went haywire!
To all you new ones: Welcome! To my small corner of the blogosphere. You may be wondering: Spheres don’t have corners? Well, it’s not really a sphere. The term, “Blogosphere,” applies to the small, spiderweb-like structure upon which bears the weight of Blogger, WordPress, Typepad, Livejournal, etc… Each blog is a junction of many links, and each blog links to many others. Eventually I will get indexed by Google and people will find my site randomly by typing in combinations for Rubik’s Cubes and Finger Fracture and Stickmen. Then they will see the layout of my site and immediately leave. I can only hope they will at least read a bit before leaving. This just makes my day.Tomorrow, my break ends and I go back to my daily routine of incidents and photographs. Please, feel free to comment!

New one! Ruthlessly stolen from Neil’s World!
- Open up the music player on your computer.
- Set it to play your entire music collection.
- Hit the “shuffle” command.
- Tell us the title of the next ten songs that show up (with their musicians), no matter how embarrassing.
- Write it up in your blog or journal and link back to at least a couple of the other sites where you saw this.
- If you get the same artist twice, you may skip the second (or third, or etc.) occurances.
- Alright, let’s go…
- Piano Sonata No.59, Movement 1 by Haydn
- I don’t even know why I own this. Once, long ago, I imported a classical CD. I’ve listened to this, oh, I dunno, maybe eight times, ever.
- Jezebel by 10,000 Maniacs
- This one is just the creepiest song. It has pleasent lyrics, but the soft, quiet tone of voice just freaks me out.
- That Was A Crazy Game of Poker by O.A.R.
- Long, but still a great story. Heard this summer.
- Carry that Weight by The Beatles
- The Penultimate Abbey Road song.
- Dragostea Din Tei by O-Zone
- I’ve listened to this 176 times, all of them three years ago. It was actually pretty good until Gary Brolsma came along.
- The Times They Are A-Changin’ by Bob Dylan
- Very depressing, but still a great song.
- Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel
- I bought a number of Joel songs recently. He has the uncanny ability to match rhythmic lyrics with actual music. Bravo.
- If Everyone Cared by Nickelback
- I got this maybe a week ago. The acoustic guitar is great, and I can just see the music video going past.
- The Outsiders by R.E.M. Feat. Q-Tip
- I still don’t know what Feat. means. Did they collaborate? That would explain the change of singer halfway through.
- Still by Ben Folds
- Ben Folds is still the man. Honestly I didn’t see the pun until after I wrote it.
(Note that I skipped both my music and Purely Instrumental music.)You know, that wasn’t that embarrassing at all. I’d better work harder next time.

I spent around a half-hour this morning coding the small

you see up under the Stats and Feed header. Clicking on each symbol will bring you to a different place. The First sends me an email, then a link to my calendar, profile, favorites, and videos.
